SelfSpeak
Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: September 17, 2026
1. Agreement and Service
These Terms of Use govern your use of the SelfSpeak mobile application, website, and related services (the “Service”) operated by SelfSpeak LLC (“SelfSpeak,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use SelfSpeak. You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting your credentials, and activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Voice and AI Features
SelfSpeak can generate affirmations, create a private AI-generated version of your own voice, and synthesize audio. You may record, clone, or use only your own voice, or a voice for which you have documented lawful authority and consent. The in-app voice-cloning flow is intended for your own voice. You may not use the Service to impersonate, deceive, defraud, harass, exploit, or violate another person’s rights.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, unsuitable, or unexpected. SelfSpeak is a wellness and personal-development tool, not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or emergency advice. Do not rely on the Service as a substitute for a qualified professional or emergency services.
4. Your Content
You retain ownership of the affirmations, prompts, recordings, and other content you submit. You grant SelfSpeak a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, reproduce, and create technical derivatives of your content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service and provide features you request. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for limited copies or records retained as described in the Privacy Policy or required by law.
5. Acceptable Use
You may not use the Service to violate law; infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights; clone another person’s voice without lawful authorization; create deceptive impersonations; distribute harmful or unlawful content; probe or disrupt the Service; bypass usage limits; automate access without permission; or resell the Service without written approval. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, providers, SelfSpeak, or the public.
6. Purchases and Subscriptions
Digital purchases made in the iOS app are processed by Apple through the App Store. Available products, prices, billing periods, trial or introductory eligibility, and included features are shown before purchase and may vary by store, region, account, and current product configuration.
Recurring subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period, subject to Apple’s applicable terms and purchase confirmation. Apple charges your Apple Account and manages renewal, cancellation, refunds, and billing. You can manage or cancel an Apple subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting your SelfSpeak account or uninstalling the app does not cancel an Apple subscription.
Restore Purchases is available for eligible purchases. Refund requests for Apple purchases are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies and applicable law. A lifetime purchase means access for the supported lifetime of the applicable SelfSpeak product or service, not the purchaser’s biological lifetime, and remains subject to these Terms.
7. Account and Data Deletion
You may request deletion from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate. Deletion can involve multiple providers and may not be instantaneous. Billing, security, consent, legal, suppression, operational-log, and backup records may remain where required or reasonably necessary, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
SelfSpeak and its licensors own the Service, software, branding, interface, documentation, and other materials excluding your content. These Terms give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service for lawful personal purposes. No other license is granted.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service depends on third parties including Apple, authentication, database, AI, voice, billing, email, and hosting providers. Their terms and privacy practices may apply to their processing and services. SelfSpeak is not responsible for third-party services outside its reasonable control.
10. Availability and Changes
We may update, suspend, limit, or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with law, respond to provider changes, or improve the Service. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available on every device or in every location.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SelfSpeak will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from the Service. SelfSpeak’s aggregate liability relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid SelfSpeak for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US$100. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
13. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify SelfSpeak from third-party claims arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights, including unauthorized voice use.
14. Apple-Specific Terms
Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the Service. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any, as required by its policies and law. Apple is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the app, including product-liability, regulatory, consumer-protection, or intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the Apple-specific provisions.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction continue to apply. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring it elsewhere. We are not requiring arbitration through these Terms.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when the Service, law, providers, or business practices change. We will post the revised Terms with a new effective date and provide additional notice where required. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
